LP and Little Man have always loved books but they especially love being able to add another dimension to the books they read, acting out scenes from the stories and really immersing themselves into each book whether it’s during the day or at bedtime.
Cheeky Monsters sent us one of their beautiful collection of books, along with a gorgeous cuddly Cheeky Monster Violet, the main character in the book, and challenged us to take the #CheekyMonstersChallenge, seeing if LP and Little Man could recreate the story with Violet’s help!
The Cheeky Monsters have been created to inspire young minds, helping them to be curious, creative, and make every day an adventure. Each Cheeky Monster has their own character and personality. There’s Rocky, Drago, Glitter, Spike and Violet.
Together, they’re great friends and they all feature in the books, with each character having their own story to tell – Rocky Road Racer, Drago Super Scientist, Spike Expert Explorer, Glitter Disco Dancer and Violet Superstar. You can find our more about the Cheeky Monsters, and introduce them to your children too, over on the Cheeky Monsters YouTube Channel.
The Violet Superstar book is about a child who can never think of things to do. So Violet gets her to stretch, spin and dance to get some focus, before closing her eyes and seeing what activities they can come up with to enjoy together.
Whilst the child’s eyes are closed, the lights come on and a show is planned, with all the other Cheeky Monsters brought in to help, making it a real celebration – full of costumes, instruments and entertaining!
Violet teaches the child and the Cheeky Monsters all the best dance moves and, although they find some of them tricky, they each do the best they can, finding their own routines to fit in with the show. It’s so inspiring for LP and Little Man to see characters playing together and enjoying themselves but being their own person too.
The story finishes with the grand finale show, with each character playing their own instruments and the child playing her guitar too. They all realised they’d made a big mess with costumes and instruments everywhere – but worked together to tidy up before it was time for bed.
Violet Superstar finishes with Violet and her Cheeky Monster friends back to being soft toys, and the perfect bedtime companion for any child. Like so many toys, imaginations make them come to life when children need them to – to keep them entertained, as a little bit of company or for a bedtime cuddle. Plus, the Cheeky Monsters’ movements and play are invisible to grown ups!
LP and Little Man love the Cheeky Monsters. They really like their cheeky personalities and their different images too – full of bright colours and with different accessories, horns and interests. Plus, the children in the stories are ones they can relate to, a girl or boy just like them with their cute and cuddly Cheeky Monster friend.
LP and Little Man loved bringing the Cheeky Monsters to life and love the imaginative play that books like the Cheeky Monsters can inspire, especially with cuddly toys that can be enjoyed alongside the books.
They’re now asking for the rest of the Cheeky Monsters series and toys to enjoy as soon as they can! I’m sure that the Cheeky Monsters would be enjoyed by any child – and they’re the sort of things that would be loved for years.
